This is kind of a cool story of a massive organization giving back to a school so that high schoolers can play football more easily. The NFL<\/a> and The Raiders have awarded a grant of $250,000 to the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Clark County School District will use this grant to install synthetic turf at a Las Vegas High School. Rancho High will be the recipient of this grant funding, and this turf will make it easier for the high school students to play football.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to officials: \u201cThe new field will increase the safety and accessibility of the field, allowing at least a 30 percent increase in field usage\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raiders President, Marc Badain had this to say about awarding the grant for this purpose: The students and athletes at Rancho High School can look forward to the installation of a new state of the art field as we continue our commitment to youth football and to our community<\/a>. The advancement of football at the youth and high school levels remains a top priority for the Raiders and we are excited to introduce this field replacement program to Las Vegas\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This grant and others like it have been awarded as part of a joint-partnership between The Raiders, The National Football League (NFL), as well as Local Initiatives<\/a>, Support Corporation. In total, this foundation has donated $61 million through their Grassroots Program and these funds have gone to improving on or creating over 375 fields throughout the country through the span of 2 decades.
