Our food supply is the driving force of our nation. Without it, people would not have access to the nutrients they need to survive. For this reason, it is important that the food supply industry can keep up with demand and is prepared for any challenges it might face along the way. It is especially crucial to realize the extent to which agriculture funding for technology and research is needed to maximize the current food supply. People in the agriculture industry are already working as hard as they can to get the most yield from their crops, but they need additional funding to make more improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GrantWatch<\/strong><\/a> is helping to lead the initiative by updating its database with even more opportunities for the agriculture community. This will, in turn, help maximize and protect our food supply. Below is a list provided by GrantWatch of just some of the many agriculture funding opportunities currently available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grants and Loans for Farming and Agriculture<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
  1. There are grants to small businesses for research addressing sustainable agriculture<\/strong><\/a> and renewable energy technology. <\/li>
  2. Grants are also offered to eligible agriculture producers collaborating with a technical advisor to benefit the agriculture industry<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>
  3. In addition, there are grants to IHEs (Institutions of Higher Education), agencies, and organizations to offer professional advancement and training activities to agricultural agencies, educators, professionals, and mentor farmers. Funding supports workshops, on-farm tours and demonstrations, and educational manuals and videos to educate ag professionals with agriculture-related training<\/strong><\/a> strategies and technologies to advance sustainable agriculture while helping farmers and ranchers increase profits and lessen environmental impact.<\/li>
  4. Grants and loans are available to agriculture producers and small non-urban businesses for environment-friendly energy solutions<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>
  5. Additionally, there are grants open to nonprofits for daily operational support. Funding supports grassroots organizations that effect positive change in the focus areas of environmental stewardship, <\/a>food and agriculture<\/a><\/strong>, health equity, and sustainable community development.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Additional Grants for Farming and Agriculture<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    1. Grants of up to $75,000<\/strong><\/a> are available to eligible agriculture professionals to conduct projects with qualifying businesses to further agricultural sustainability.<\/li>
    2. Additionally, there are grants to agriculture professionals for professional training related to sustainability in agriculture<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li>
    3. Grants are also available to IHEs, agencies, producers, and nonprofits for educational activities related to agricultural sustainability<\/strong><\/a>. <\/li>
    4. There are grants of up to $1,000<\/strong><\/a> to nonprofits, schools, and groups for a wide variety of public garden projects. Funding is for food garden projects that serve community members in need. Eligible projects include senior gardens, school gardens, and community gardens.<\/li>
    5. Lastly, there are grants of up to $75,000<\/strong><\/a> to faculty researchers for projects related to sustainable agriculture. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
