It\u2019s a big part of the American dream, isn\u2019t it? The idea that everyone has a place to kick off their shoes and sink back into the cushions of their favorite chair and just relax is intoxicating. However, in our modern world, it has become increasingly evident that a secure and affordable place to call home is not just a basic human need. No, indeed, having a place to call home is a sign of individual well-being and prosperity. GrantWatch believes grants for housing can help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding and in-kind donations can make a real difference to communities that must address urgent housing needs. The GrantWatch database lists almost 500 housing grants available for application submission.&nbsp; Perhaps the best thing about these grants is that they address different issues that all fall into the scope of housing individuals and families. For example, there is funding available for renters and in-kind services for folks building their own homes. In addition, there are grants for housing development and repair. And, there is even a grant that applies to teachers and firefighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, with the proper funding we can begin to address the issue building, buying, leasing, or renting the houses we want to call home.  The following list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/cat\/19\/housing-grants.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Housing<\/strong><\/a> grants is only a a small sample of the nearly 500 grants available in this category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"benefits-of-women-owned-small-businesses\"><strong> <\/strong><strong>Grants for Housing<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grants and in-kind services to individuals and families in eligible locations to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/188814\/grants-and-in-kind-services-to-texas-individuals-and-families-in-eligible-locations-to-address-urgent-needs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">address urgent needs<\/a><\/strong> within the community. Funding is for a wide range of activities, including the development, construction, and rehabilitation of affordable housing. Funding is intended for police officers, social workers, teachers, medical professionals, and firefighters.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Additional Grants for Housing<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grants of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/176232\/grants-to-south-carolina-nonprofits-in-eligible-areas-for-housing-and-education-initiatives.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>up to $5,000<\/strong><\/a> to nonprofits to promote housing and education initiatives. Funding supports organizations that emphasize affordable housing through education, development or repair.<\/li><li>In addition, there are grants to nonprofits and government agencies for strategies to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/195542\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-and-agencies-to-develop-housing-solutions-for-individuals-with-hiv-aids.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>address housing solutions<\/strong><\/a> for individuals with HIV\/AIDS and their families.<\/li><li>Contracts for services to nonprofits to develop permanent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/187226\/contracts-for-services-to-usa-nonprofits-for-supportive-rental-housing-for-low-income-people-with-disabilities.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>supportive rental housing<\/strong><\/a> for low-income people with disabilities. As a result, funding is to offer individuals with disabilities (ages 18 and over) the opportunity to live independently and with dignity within the community in an integrated environment. Funding also supports providing access to appropriate and voluntary supportive services. Program goal is to provide project rental subsidies to maintain ongoing affordability over the next 40 years.<\/li><li>There are also grants to eligible government agencies and municipalities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/179872\/grants-to-vermont-agencies-to-enhance-economic-development-public-services-and-housing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>for housing projects<\/strong><\/a>, economic development, and public facilities and services.
