Possible funding will improve the capabilities of existing farmers markets or build new facilities. In turn, this raises awareness about the benefits of consuming locally grown, fresh produce. Overall, successful farmers markets play a crucial role in enhancing community well-being, sustainability, and a sense of shared identity. It\u2019s a win-win situation. Grants<\/strong> to Promote Farmers Markets<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
  1. To begin, $500 grants and in-kind donations to farmers who sell fruits and vegetables at produce stands or farmers’ markets. Funding assists farmers in <\/a><\/strong>selling locally grown products<\/a><\/strong>. <\/li>
  2. In addition, funding for nonprofit organizations for operational support. It should be noted, funding supports grassroots orgs that focus on environmental stewardship, food and agriculture, health equity, and sustainable community development<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>
  3. Next, BIPOC farmers can seek grants of up to $2,000 to support their success. Funding is for equipment, consulting, education, software, and any other items that will help support a transition to organic farming.<\/li>
  4. Also, an award of $5,000 to a farmer to recognize creativity and entrepreneurial skill<\/a><\/strong>. The award honors an individual who works on a commercial farm and exemplifies the characteristics embodied by the award’s namesake.<\/li>
  5. And finally, grants for municipalities to promote healthy and active living and improve the quality of life for state residents. Funding helps communities create healthy environments, increase access to nutritious foods<\/a><\/strong>, and promote physical activity.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Additional Grants and In-Kind Donations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    1. First, grants of up to $1,500 to schools, farms, and gardening organizations. Funding is for interactive programs and activities that teach children about the food<\/a><\/strong> and agriculture industries.<\/li>
    2. Also, grants of up to $50,000 <\/a><\/strong>to government agencies for community-based infrastructure development. It must promote local food production and support sustainable agriculture. Funding is new and established commercial kitchens, food hubs, farmers\u2019 markets, and other value-added facilities.<\/li>
    3. Next, in-kind grants of seeds to nonprofits, seed libraries<\/a><\/strong>, community gardens, schools, and community and educational groups. Assistance is also available for farmers and gardeners whose farms and gardens have been impacted by natural disasters.<\/li>
    4. In addition, grants of up to $10,000 to community-based nonprofits, agencies, and school groups for capital projects. Funding supports the construction or renovation of facilities<\/a><\/strong> that will benefit local communities.<\/li>
    5. Lastly, grants of up to $20,000 to USA agricultural producers for disaster relief efforts. It’s important to note, funding assists organic farm operations struggling to recover from natural disasters and other difficulties.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
