To craft an argument that is honestly straightforward and persuasive enough to convince a funder to award you a grant. In addition, you need to structure it in the simplest terms. In short, taking the time to make sure your application has all the Cs is the perfect recipe for success. So, what are the 3 Cs of grant writing? We thought you&#8217;d never ask. They are writing in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br \/>1.<strong> Be Clear<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Make your application easy to read.&nbsp;Reviewers need to&nbsp;be able to readily see how your application fulfills all the selection criteria.&nbsp;This may include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What you plan to do;<\/li><li>How it connects with the funding source&#8217;s objectives;<\/li><li>Why you are the right person to get the job done;<\/li><li>How much money you will need and what will it pay for;&nbsp;<\/li><li>What&nbsp;you want the project to result in;<\/li><li>Who is likely to benefit in the broader community.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br \/>2. <strong>Be<\/strong> <strong>Concise<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Grant reviewers often have to&nbsp;read many&nbsp;grant&nbsp;applications. Unnecessary details make it hard for&nbsp;reviewers&nbsp;to assess an application. For this reason, funders prefer it when you keep your proposal short and to the point.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Don&#8217;t repeat yourself. Each section seeks different information, so don&#8217;t include the same information in more than one area.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Use quality information rather than&nbsp;quantity.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Avoid using language that is wordy or vague. Use short phrasing when possible. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br \/>3.<strong> Be Compelling<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure the information you supply is<strong>:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Accurate and factual;<\/li><li>Provides credible data to&nbsp;support&nbsp;your proposal;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Shows you consulted key people and represented their views;<\/li><li>Presents a strong case with clear links between the project, your business, and the grant objectives;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Includes all evidence and financial information required;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Explains how you plan to meet the grant program&#8217;s objectives and outcomes.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re not confident in writing, allow more time in your application timeline. You may also ask someone you trust to help with proofreading or hire a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grantnews\/should-you-hire-a-grant-writer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grant writer<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process of searching for grants and writing applications can be overwhelming. Think of your writer as part of your organization.
