In fact, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant-search.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">California.GrantWatch<\/a><\/strong> offers a list of over 1,600 grants 300 of those opportunities are for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/cat\/10\/environment-and-conservation-grants.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">California Environmental Grants<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Facts About the History of California<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First, a little history. Under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexico sold California to the US, along with its territories north of the Rio Grande for 15 million dollars.<\/li><li>The gold rush of 1849 set off an era of settlement unlike any before. In fact, the discovery of gold at Sutter&#8217;s Mill changed the course of the state&#8217;s history.<\/li><li>Because of the weather diversity, both surfing and downhill skiing are favorite California sports. In addition, hiking among giant redwoods and touring historic missions are also popular.<\/li><li>Wine country! Beautiful road trips and wine tastings along the magnificent Napa Valley or Sonoma County are a must for wine lovers.<\/li><li>So many famous people come from Cali, everyone from the likes of John Steinbeck, to Clint Eastwood, to Joe DiMaggio are but a few who hail from its sunny shores.<\/li><li>The allure of Tinseltown cannot be ignored. Hollywood is the literal hub of the entertainment world. Glamour, sparkle, and bling draw millions of tourists every year.<\/li><li>Finally, a short tour of California would never be complete without Silicon Valley. As the home of the headquarters of some of the world\u2019s largest technology companies, innovation and entrepreneurship abound.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are so many more people, places, and things that California has to offer. With Spring on the way, is there a road trip to Cali in the future? In the meantime, GrantWatch has selected some funding and support opportunities for readers to peruse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>California Grants<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grants of <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/179783\/grants-to-california-nonprofits-agencies-special-districts-schools-and-tribes-for-programs-to-benefit-local-communities.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>up to $50,000<\/strong> <\/a>to eligible California nonprofits, public agencies, special districts, schools, and tribes to benefit local communities. Moreover, areas of focus include recreation, arts and culture, environment, social services, community vitality, health care, youth, children, and education. In addition, funding is for the purchase of equipment or for building-related projects.<\/li><li>There are grants of <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/204545\/grants-to-california-libraries-for-programs-related-to-climate-change-and-sustainability.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>up to $75,000<\/strong><\/a> to California libraries for programs related to climate change and sustainability practices. Also, eligible projects are to inform and benefit communities most affected by climate change.<\/li><li>Grants of up to $25,000 to California public charitable organizations in eligible watershed regions for projects that preserve and enhance <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/171563\/grants-to-california-maryland-and-virginia-nonprofits-for-projects-that-protect-oceans-and-improve-water-quality.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">oceanic ecosystems<\/a><\/strong>, improve water quality, and protect the environment.<\/li><li>Grants to California nonprofits, government agencies, Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), tribes, and private entities for projects to <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/203351\/grants-to-california-nonprofits-agencies-ihes-tribes-and-private-entities-for-projects-to-preserve-local-forests.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>preserve local forests<\/strong><\/a>. The purpose of the program is to foster business development in the wood product industry while also maintaining the sustainable management of forested areas.<\/li><li>Also, grants of <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/186555\/grants-to-california-nonprofits-businesses-and-school-districts-for-projects-that-prevent-food-waste-in-eligible-locations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>up to $30,000<\/strong> <\/a>to eligible California nonprofits, businesses, school districts, and institutions for activities that prevent food waste. Additionally, funding supports innovative projects to prevent the generation of surplus food, divert existing surpluses from disposal in landfills or composting, and implement their beneficial distribution through food donations.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Additional California Grants<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grants to eligible California nonprofits, businesses, and institutions for a wide range of <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/188177\/grants-to-california-nonprofits-and-businesses-for-programs-and-projects-to-improve-food-systems-and-reduce-waste.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>waste management programs<\/strong><\/a> and projects. Funding is for activities in the following focus areas: food waste recovery and prevention, community food systems, reuse and repair, surplus food donation equipment, reusable transport packaging, and reusable food ware infrastructure and services.<\/li><li>In-kind donations to nonprofit organizations. Requests are welcome from organizations working to develop, enhance, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/202026\/in-kind-donations-of-water-bottles-to-usa-nonprofits-that-work-to-improve-green-spaces.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increase accessibility<\/a><\/strong> to parks, beaches, and green spaces.<\/li><li>In addition, grants to government agencies, IHEs, and nonprofit organizations to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/211903\/grants-to-usa-territories-agencies-ihes-and-nonprofits-to-protect-marine-resources.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protect marine resources<\/a><\/strong>. Applicants are advised to complete required registrations in advance of the application deadline. Projects must work to protect ecosystems such as coral reefs<\/li><li>Grants of <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/172457\/grants-to-california-nonprofits-agencies-districts-and-tribes-for-projects-that-enhance-water-quality-in-eligible-watersheds.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>up to $35,000<\/strong> <\/a>to California nonprofits, government agencies, resource conservation districts, and tribes for projects that enhance the water quality of designated watersheds and their ecosystems. Priority will be for projects that benefit vulnerable populations and advance environmental justice in addition to improving water quality. Projects must relate strongly to one or more eligible watersheds.<\/li><li>Lastly, grants to California local governments, conservation districts, and tribes for <a href=\"https:\/\/california.grantwatch.com\/grant\/160236\/grants-to-california-agencies-conservation-districts-and-tribes-to-address-illegally-dumped-waste-on-ranches-and-farms.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>ranch\/farm waste management<\/strong><\/a>. Moreover, the purpose of the program is to address the disposal of illegally dumped waste material.
