What&#8217;s more, it helps us to know how and where to get the necessary resources and treatment directly to individuals and families suffering with this addiction. But make no mistake, addressing this issue also helps our community as a whole, reducing both the human and the financial toll that impacts so many. This represents 5.3% of all deaths.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overall, 5.1% of the global burden of disease and injury is attributable to alcohol, as measured in disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beyond health consequences, the harmful use of alcohol brings significant social and economic losses to individuals and society at large.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alcohol consumption causes death and disability early in life. In people aged 20-39 years, approximately 13.5% of total deaths are attributable to alcohol.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a causal relationship between harmful use of alcohol and a range of mental and behavioral disorders, and other noncommunicable conditions and injuries. Couple this question with quiet reflection on the role that alcohol plays in your life, and you\u2019re off to a good start. The answer to the question is NOW. &nbsp;If you imbibe, the time is now. Take stock and familiarize yourself with the signs and symptoms of alcohol addiction. After all, this is knowledge that could help you or a loved one. Funding expands or bolsters existing funding for a variety of community programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nonprofit organizations may apply for grants to enrich the quality of life in eligible communities. Areas of interest include the identification of reliable biobehavioral signatures and biomarkers to predict risk or resilience to substance use, mental illness, and other health outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-df56d56c-9839-4b76-b742-7075a48b2560\"><strong>Additional Grants for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Research and Treatment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-9254a527-e41f-4b15-b068-3d8304267d48\">\n<li>Grants to nonprofit organizations and government units for programs that address community <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/172092\/grants-to-alabama-nonprofits-and-agencies-for-community-health-and-wellness-programs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>health and wellness concerns<\/strong><\/a>. Priorities for funding include substance abuse, health education for children and youth, and preventative health programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunity for public and private employers to participate in a rebate program to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/210472\/opportunity-for-ohio-public-entities-and-businesses-to-participate-in-a-program-to-reduce-substance-use-in-the-workplace.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reduce substance use<\/a><\/strong> in the workplace.
