These grants will be awarded through the Maryland Historical Trust to Maryland nonprofit organizations and government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Governor Larry Hogan had this to say about the projects that were funded: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;The program encourages restoration and rehabilitation of historic properties across the state and is one more way we can preserve and protect Maryland\u2019s history and culture.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant program was put into place in 1978, where it has helped hundreds of properties with restoration. Individuals, business entities, and local jurisdictions, and nonprofits are all eligible to apply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grantnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Md_history.jpg\" alt=\"maryland\" class=\"wp-image-5083\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grantnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Md_history.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grantnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Md_history-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mht.maryland.gov\/\">The Maryland Historical Trust<\/a> was formed in 1961 to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;assist in identifying, studying, evaluating, preserving, protecting, and interpreting the state\u2019s significant prehistoric and historic districts, sites, structures, cultural landscapes, heritage areas, cultural objects, and artifacts, as well as less tangible human and community traditions&#8221;. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And here&#8217;s what the The Capital Grant Program actually covers in terms of restoration projects:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Physical Preservation Projects <\/li><li>Architecture <\/li><li>Engineering <\/li><li>Archeology<\/li><li>Consulting services needed in the development of a construction project<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations can apply for up to $100,000 per project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the list of projects that were funded under this last round of funding grants: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lovely Lane United Methodist Church (Baltimore City) ($100,000)<\/li><li>Schifferstadt Architectural Museum (Frederick County) ($40,000)<\/li><li>His Lordship\u2019s Kindness (Prince George\u2019s County) ($100,000)<\/li><li>Mount Clare Museum (Baltimore City) ($11,000)<\/li><li>Bostwick House (Prince George\u2019s County) ($76,000)<\/li><li>National Park Seminary (Montgomery County) ($100,000)<\/li><li>Ebenezer A.M.E. Church and Parish House (Baltimore City) ($100,000)<\/li><li>Calvin B. Taylor House (Worcester County) ($45,000)<\/li><li>B&amp;O WB Tower (Frederick County) ($15,000)<\/li><li>Christ Rock M.E.
