Made <em>part of the US Navy<\/em> in 1954. Yet the <em>&#8216;book&#8217;<\/em> was actually just a list on a single piece of paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The sperm whale is the official state animal. Since sperm whale is <em>endangered<\/em>, it was also chosen to raise awareness to their plight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mark Twain moved into his home in Hartford, CT in 1874. This is where &#8216;Sam&#8217; (his actual name) wrote the legendary novel titled <em>Huckleberry Finn<\/em>. The speed limit was set at 12 miles per hour on  city roads and 15mph on country roads. Drivers were also required to slow down or even stop near horse-drawn carriages and wagons so as not to scare the horses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 1903, CT started requiring its residents to register their cars. In 1937, CT was the first state to make permanent license plates out of aluminum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Easton, CT, home to Union Cemetery, one of the most haunted of cemeteries. More than 750 dinosaur tracks were discovered in 1966. Today, you can walk a pathway in the same spots where they were found. Priority consideration will be for projects and programs benefitting Hartford (CT) residents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Also, grants to Connecticut nonprofits for programs to enhance <a href=\"https:\/\/connecticut.grantwatch.com\/grant\/178885\/grants-to-connecticut-nonprofits-in-eligible-counties-for-activities-that-enhance-social-well-being-and-economic-development.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>social-welfare\/economic-development<\/strong><\/a>. Priority consideration will be for programs in the areas of community development, job training, education, health, human services, housing, and the arts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-df56d56c-9839-4b76-b742-7075a48b2560\"><strong>Opportunity, and Additional Connecticut Community and Economic Development Grants<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-9254a527-e41f-4b15-b068-3d8304267d48\">\n<li>Grants to eligible Connecticut nonprofits and government agencies to <a href=\"https:\/\/connecticut.grantwatch.com\/grant\/180766\/grants-to-rhode-island-and-connecticut-nonprofits-and-agencies-to-enhance-the-quality-of-life-for-local-residents-in-eligible-areas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>enhance the quality-of-life<\/strong><\/a> in addressing local community needs.
