Foodbanks and pantries offer access to nutritious food to help families overcome hunger. But they need money to continue providing nutritional assistance to folks in need. Luckily, grants can provide an excellent funding source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nonprofit food assistance programs are integral to providing relief to low-income individuals and families. After all, how can underserved communities work towards a brighter future when they struggle to meet their basic needs? Below, we highlight 10 grants currently available to assist with food security and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10 Food Assistance Grants<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nonprofit organizations and faith-based organizations can&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/200027\/opportunity-for-usa-nonprofits-and-faith-based-organizations-to-receive-donated-food-and-other-essential-items-to-distribute-within-the-community.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply to receive donated food<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>to distribute to children and families in need.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grants are now open to nonprofit organizations for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/196043\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-for-community-based-programs-related-to-food-and-nutrition.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>community-based programs<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;relating to food and nutrition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nonprofit organizations can apply for grants for programs that encourage&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/192847\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-to-promote-nutritious-eating-and-reduce-food-insecurity.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nutritious eating<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>and reduce food insecurity.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food-focused nonprofit organizations can now apply for an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/181507\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-to-support-operations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>operational support grant<\/strong><\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nonprofit organizations, political and state subdivisions, and public IHES, can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/136763\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-agencies-and-ihes-to-serve-the-community-in-the-areas-of-education-human-services-and-social-justice.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>apply for a grant<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to provide basic services in the area of hunger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grants are open to nonprofit organizations for programs that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/184177\/grants-to-usa-canada-and-international-nonprofits-to-provide-programs-that-benefit-individuals-in-need.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>feed the hu<\/strong>ngry<\/a>&nbsp;and increase access to healthy foods.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-kind grants are available to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/180511\/in-kind-grants-to-usa-schools-to-improve-access-to-healthy-food.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>public and private schools<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to improve access to healthy and nutritious food.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Nonprofit organizations in multiple states may apply for grants up to $2,500 for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/212372\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-in-multiple-states-for-emergency-assistance-in-the-wake-of-unexpected-challenges.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emergency assistance<\/a><\/strong> in the wake of unexpected challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Awards for school food authorities to recognize efforts to<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/209875\/awards-to-usa-school-food-authorities-to-recognize-efforts-to-improve-the-nutritional-quality-of-school-meals.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> improve the nutritional quality<\/a><\/strong> of school meals.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grants up to $1,500  to meet basic needs for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/209875\/awards-to-usa-school-food-authorities-to-recognize-efforts-to-improve-the-nutritional-quality-of-school-meals.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>children of military service members<\/strong><\/a>.
