This Wednesday 19th August is National Aviation Day<\/a>. In 1939, President Roosevelt issued a proclamation that designated the anniversary of Orville Wright’s birthday to be National Aviation Day. The Wright Brothers, Orville, and Wilbur are historically known as the pioneers of aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aviation industry has drastically advanced since 1903 when the Wright brother’s created the first airplane in America. Due to the recent COVID<\/a> pandemic, the aviation industry is suffering, with thousands of flights canceled worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Never before in our history, have nations across the world simultaneously banned international travel<\/a>. Countries are imposing strict travel restrictions in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus<\/a>. Many airlines have been grounded since March 2020, with travel unlikely to resume until April 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of the importance of National Aviation Day this year, grants are available to support aviation, travel, and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
