Do you need to find disability grants? You may have noticed finding disability grants can be quite challenging. So, where do you even start and what should you look for? Currently, 61 million people in the USA are living with a disability. That’s one in four Americans! While these numbers are high, the grant opportunities available are quite low. Currently, most funding is given by the US government<\/strong><\/a> in the form of Medicaid<\/strong><\/a> and other financial support services. Although government grants are the most common, foundations also play a pivotal role in providing support. However, finding foundation grants is not easy! And, in many cases, you may need to utilize a grant search engine such as\u00a0GrantWatch<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in order to find these opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find Disability Grants For Nonprofits and Individuals:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Opportunity for USA nonprofit organizations to propose solutions that will reduce health disparities<\/a><\/strong> for people with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Grants to USA nonprofit organizations<\/strong><\/a> for projects to benefit youth, young adults, and veterans with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Grants of up to $5,000<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are open to\u00a0individuals with autism\u00a0and their families for urgent treatment needs. This funding is to meet the treatment and support needs of those impacted with autism and their families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Reimbursement grants of up to $1,000<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are available for the\u00a0installation of equipment\u00a0in eligible Ford vehicles that will help people with disabilities. The equipment installation must clearly relate to a specific medical need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Grants to USA, Canada, and International individuals with disabilities for costs related to participating in sports activities<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Grants Specific to Disabled Veterans:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    1. Grants up to $10,000<\/a> <\/strong>are open to military veterans and active-duty personnel who have disabilities due to their service. The funding is for home adaptations in line with their disability, including: repairs, construction, and house modifications. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Veterans with severe injuries they sustained while in service to the country, may apply for specially adapted custom housing<\/strong><\/a> grants. Furthermore, applicants must be retired and were injured in the theater of Iraq-Afghanistan war, post 9\/11\/01.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Severely injured armed-force veterans may be eligible for specially designed mortgage-free houses<\/strong><\/a> to allow them to live independently. Additionally, their catastrophic injuries must have occurred on or after October 7, 2001.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Opportunities are open to post-9\/11 veterans with disabilities. The are invited <\/strong>to participate in a program<\/strong><\/a> to build skills and resources related to business management and entrepreneurship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Grants are open<\/strong><\/a> to first responders, military personnel, and veterans with disabilities for sports and fitness programs that enhance their physical and mental health. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Disability Grants for Specific States:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      1. Grants to Minnesota nonprofit organizations and government agencies in eligible locations for health-related educational programs<\/a><\/strong>, equipment, and events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Rhode Island nonprofits that serve children and adults with physical disabilities may be eligible for grants for services<\/strong><\/a>. Special consideration is given to organizations that serve low-income individuals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Texas nonprofits that serve individuals with disabilities may be eligible for grants to help with providing services to individuals with disabilities<\/a><\/strong> and disadvantaged populations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Indiana nonprofits provide services through programs that benefit individuals with disabilities<\/a><\/strong> may be eligible for grants. Funding is available for programs that work to improve the quality of life of adults and children with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Montana individuals and organizations, schools, and health providers may be eligible for grants <\/a>to help with mental health services<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
