Grants for teachers help alleviate the financial burden many educators face when purchasing classroom supplies. Teachers often have to purchase their own supplies for special projects, decorating their classrooms, and creating learning environments. Even standard office supplies, like pens and paper, sometimes come out of a teacher’s personal savings. While the U.S. government gives a small tax credit<\/strong><\/a> to teachers for the school supplies they buy, most surpass this amount. Recently, 94% of public school educators reported that they dipped into their own funds to pay for class supplies. On average, teachers spend about $500 out of pocket<\/strong><\/a>, with nearly 10% reportedly spending more than $1,000 a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proper funding allows teachers to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences and invest in essential materials\u2014like books, science kits, and technology–to enhance the overall educational experience of every student. However, these additional resources are not always subsidized by schools. In recognition of the sacrifices and dedication of our teachers, GrantWatch<\/a><\/strong> is showcasing 12 grants to help ease the burdens of these costs. What’s more, there are 275 grants in total just for educators in the Teachers<\/a><\/strong> grant listing category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12 Grants for Teachers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  1. Grants of\u00a0up to $1,500<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are available to high school chemistry teachers to pursue career development opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Grants to public and charter schools to implement high-quality middle school STEM<\/a><\/strong> programs. Eligible expenses include supplies, equipment, program fees, and technology purchases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Up to $500 to K-12 teachers to integrate aerospace education<\/a><\/strong> into the class curriculum for activities that relate to aerospace science and technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Awards up to $2,000 to USA and territories K-12 science teachers<\/a><\/strong> in eligible states to recognize outstanding innovation in science education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. \u00a0$10,000 award to a USA or Canada K-12 teacher for outstanding classroom science education<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. There are also grants of\u00a0up to $125<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and in-kind grants of pet store discounts to PreK-9 teachers to teach about responsible pet care and bonding with animals.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. In-kind grants of essential\u00a0school supplies<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0are available to teachers in underserved preschools and schools.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. USA K-3 educators can apply for grants of\u00a0up to $200<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>for professional development in the area of early literacy.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Grants of\u00a0up to $1,000<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0are also available to schools, volunteers, and educators for programs to improve physical fitness and education for students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Awards to USA K-12 educators<\/a><\/strong>, administrators, and school staff members to recognize outstanding efforts to positively impact the lives of students.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. in-kind grants are available to elementary and middle school\u00a0educators (grades 2-6)<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to receive access to an online math program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Grants of up to $200 to USA K-3 educators for professional development<\/a><\/strong> in the area of early literacy.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
