One of the oldest cities in the United States, Baltimore has notably been given a variety of nicknames, including &#8220;<em>Charm City<\/em>,&#8221; &#8220;the <em>City that Reads<\/em>,: &#8221; &#8220;the <em>Monumental City<\/em>,&#8221; and the &#8220;<em>City that Believes<\/em>.&#8221; Once a leading manufacturing and industrial center, Baltimore as a community has shifted its focus to become much more of a service-oriented economy. Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Hospital are two major institutions that have led this transformation. In fact, Baltimore&#8217;s business focus is largely in STEM industries (<strong>S<\/strong>cience, <strong>T<\/strong>echnology, <strong>E<\/strong>ngineering, and <strong>M<\/strong>ath).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>GrantWatch<\/strong><\/a> welcomes this opportunity to provide a list of grants for Maryland programs and services, including several specifically for the city of Baltimore, Maryland. Benefits for Baltimore Women and Children!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Grants of up to $25,000 to eligible Maryland nonprofits to benefit women and children. Funding supports general operations, as well as specific programs and services. The goal of the program is to support women and their families to achieve self-sufficiency. Proposals are to benefit residents of the greater Baltimore area. The Foundation supports women of all ages and their families to live safe, healthy, and productive lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.grantwatch.com\/grant\/178788\/grants-to-maryland-nonprofits-to-improve-the-quality-of-life-in-underserved-communities.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>2. Improving the Quality of Life in Communities!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>There are grants of up to $10,000 to eligible Maryland nonprofits to benefit disadvantaged communities. Funding is to address the needs of underserved populations by utilizing innovation to achieve results. Systemic issues include social, economic, and environmental concerns. The emphasis will be for Baltimore City initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.grantwatch.com\/grant\/142394\/grants-to-maryland-nonprofits-for-capital-projects-that-enhance-heritage-resources.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>3. Capital Projects to Enhance Heritage Resources!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, grants of up to $20,000 to eligible Maryland nonprofits for capital projects to enhance historical sites. Funding supports restoration, preservation, development, and acquisition projects. The purpose of the program is to promote heritage tourism. Eligible projects must take place within Baltimore City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.grantwatch.com\/grant\/195891\/grants-to-maryland-nonprofits-in-eligible-regions-for-capacity-building-projects.html\"><strong>4. Funding for Capacity-Building Projects\/Activities<\/strong><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.grantwatch.com\/grant\/195891\/grants-to-maryland-nonprofits-in-eligible-regions-for-capacity-building-projects.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">!<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Grants of up to $50,000 for eligible Maryland nonprofits for capacity-building projects, including database and technology enhancements and equipment purchases. Funding is for programs and projects within the areas of community and economic development, civic and cultural activities, education, health and human services, historic preservation, and the environment. The Foundation funds projects primarily located in the Greater Baltimore area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.grantwatch.com\/grant\/187404\/grants-to-maryland-nonprofits-for-profits-ihes-and-agencies-for-environmental-projects.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>5. Grants for Maryland Environmental Projects!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>There are grants to Maryland nonprofits, for-profit entities, government agencies, and Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) for environmental activities to advance healthy ecosystems in communities across the state<em>.<\/em> Funding is for projects supporting restoration of natural resources, flood planning and prevention, climate impact, waterway improvements, and outdoor learning and stewardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.grantwatch.com\/grant\/197047\/opportunity-for-usa-canada-and-international-startups-to-participate-in-a-business-development-program.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>6. Participants will receive investment funding, mentoring, deals and perks, and networking support.
