National and International Grants uplift communities and drive change and they are perfect to honor Black History Month. Black History Month stands as a symbol of hope and progress that crosses borders, engages the world, and recognizes the brilliance within every individual. While it honors the achievements of Black Americans, it also shines a light on the global fight for social justice, equality, and anti-discrimination efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GrantWatch<\/a><\/strong> is playing our part in this movement by continually updating our database daily with opportunities that fuel social justice initiatives both at home and abroad. As a result, we boast nearly 700 grants in our Social Justice<\/a><\/strong> category and over 500 International<\/a><\/strong> grants as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crossing Borders<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Black history is not confined to one country. Around the world, nations recognize and celebrate the contributions of Black individuals in unique and meaningful ways. Canada and Germany join the United States in commemorating Black History Month in February. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands dedicate October to their celebrations, and Brazil honors Black Consciousness Day on November 20. These observances remind us that the call for equality and recognition is universal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raising awareness of racial inequalities in society at large requires continuous effort. Programs dedicated to these causes work year-round, ensuring that Black history is not only remembered but helps to actively shape our present and future. Through national and international grants, organizations receive crucial funding to develop programs that educate, advocate, and empower communities worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grants Honoring Black History Month<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Climate Change Challenges in Africa<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA and International research groups to conduct joint projects that address climate change challenges in Africa. Funding is for transdisciplinary research studies by qualifying consortia. Studies explore and propose solutions to climate change vulnerability across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families Living in Urban Poverty<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA, India, and South Africa nonprofit and for-profit social enterprises for initiatives to benefit children and families living in urban poverty. Areas of focus: education, health, and family economic stability. Funding is for proposals that have a measurable impact on the lives of children and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enrich the Lives of Children<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

In-kind donations of books to USA, Canada, and International youth-serving agencies and institutions to encourage reading among children and youth. The program provides books produced by African American authors and illustrators. The purpose is to build organizational libraries and bring books into the lives of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

African-American Youth<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

$9,500 to a USA, Canada, or International early-career psychologist affiliated with a nonprofit institution. The grant addresses suicide among African-American youth and children. Funding supports the education, practice, and\/or research of the grant recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black-Led Startups<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International women-led and black-led startups to participate in an accelerator program in the United States. In addition to funding, participants receive mentorship and vendor perks. They will also attend a reception at which they can present their companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rainforest Protection<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants and in-kind support to USA, Canada, and International journalists to report on systemic issues plaguing the rainforests of Southeast Asia, Central Africa, and the Amazon. Priority is for reports that address illegal wildlife trades across borders. Also, reports that shed light on harmful forest extraction industries. And finally, reports that investigate the systems, organizations, and people that enable corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigative Reporting on AI<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA, Canada, and International freelance and staff journalists for investigative reporting on issues related to Artificial Intelligence. Funding covers expenses for to in-depth reporting related to the impact of surveillance technologies and AI on communities worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Animal Advocacy Projects<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA, Canada, and International organizations, groups, companies, and qualifying individuals for animal advocacy projects. Funding supports general expenses as well as specific projects that benefit animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studies for Pediatric Cancers<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA, Canada, and International MD and PhD early-career researchers for studies related to pediatric cancers. Funds may be used for investigators’ salaries, technical help, supplies, small equipment, and travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing Social Initiatives<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofits for environmental and social initiatives. Funding is for activities that support sustainability, serve underserved communities, and address difficulties experienced by those suffering from illness or facing societal challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writers for Emergency Expenses<\/a><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Financial assistance to USA, Canada, and International writers for expenses related to emergencies. Funding is for writers of any citizenship based in America and for American writers living in foreign countries. Funding is also for journalists, poets, and dramatists with financial need due to unexpected loss of income, health-related problems, or other misfortune. Priority is given to sick or older authors in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel for Individuals Facing Barriers<\/strong><\/a><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Grants to USA, Canada, and International organizations to facilitate travel for individuals facing barriers. Funding supports organizations that serve underrepresented communities including travelers with accessibility needs, youth, Indigenous travelers, and LGBTQIA+ travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Address Global Challenges<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Up to $15,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit and for-profit organizations and individuals for initiatives that address global challenges. Funding is for innovative ideas that are in the early stages of development and that have the potential for large-scale impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology-Based Solutions<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International individuals and others to develop technology-based solutions to foster peace and economic prosperity. In addition to cash prizes, winners receive personalized support, opportunities to win more prize money, and travel to flagship events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
