Staying safe means having access to the right resources before a crisis occurs. Federal, state, and local agencies regularly offer practical guidance and tools to help individuals and communities prepare, like emergency planning kits, communications strategies, and localized response training. These \u201cResources to Stay Safe\u201d<\/a><\/strong> can make all the difference in ensuring a calm, coordinated response when seconds matter most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grants to nonprofits, municipalities, social enterprises, and Indigenous groups for activities to benefit local communities. The funding supports programs and projects in the areas of safety, education, the environment, and community resilience in the wake of natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Grants to Nonprofits for Technology, Journalism, Cybersecurity, Voting Rights, and Veterans!<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Grants to nonprofits for things like women in technology, military families and veterans, protection of voters, reliable journalism, and cybersecurity. The current focus is to provide outstanding organizations with funding for efforts to protect the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Grants to Organizations for Individualized Financial Aid During Natural Disasters!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Grants to organizations to provide financial assistance to individual survivors of fires and other disasters. The funding covers equipment, supplies, maintenance, repairs, education programs, and direct aid to fire victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Fund Bereavement Costs and Mitigate Financial Hardship for Families of Fallen First Responders!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

$5,000 to bereaved families of fallen first responders. Funding provides financial assistance to families who have lost a loved one while in service to the community. First responders include Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs}, paramedics, firefighters, medical staff, and support departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Grants to Nonprofits and First Responder Agencies for Projects Benefiting Local Communities!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Up to $5,000 to nonprofits and first responders for programs benefiting both local communities and individual families. Proposals will be for youth education activities and programs, first responder family support, mental and behavioral health, community engagement, and other emergency support services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Fund Support Training and Equipment Needs<\/strong><\/a> for Emergency Response Providers!<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Grants to emergency response providers for training and equipment. Eligible applicants include search and rescue organizations, EMS, and firefighter and law enforcement organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Grants to Nonprofits, Municipalities, and Businesses to Improve Cybersecurity!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Up to $25,000 to nonprofits, municipalities, and small businesses to promote improvements to cybersecurity technology and protection against cyber threats. Funding is for technology upgrades and to assist with procuring managed detection and response services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Fund Basic Needs for U.S. Coast Guard Members Surviving a Natural Disaster!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Grants up to $3,000 to U.S. Coast Guard members for basic needs after personally surviving a natural disaster. The funding relieves the personal financial burden experienced by first responders as a result of their own homes being damaged or destroyed by disasters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. In-Kind Support to Schools, Police, EMS, Fire, and Public Safety Rescue Agencies for Communication!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

In-kind support to schools, police, EMS, fire, and\/or other public safety rescue agencies to provide used radios to facilitate enhanced communication. The program provides used radio equipment at no cost to these agencies to support their life-saving mission and to enhance their communication in emergency situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Donation of Personal Safety Items to Assist Individuals with Autism!<\/strong><\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Donations of personal safety items to enhance the personal safety of individuals with autism. First responders and police departments will be provided with seat belt covers to distribute to autistic members of their local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
