This includes firefighters, police officers, hospital workers, and others who work hard to keep us all safe. It&#8217;s important to know that these heroes are working hard to ensure that all of us get through the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Jersey has been awarded a grant to train new frontline workers. This grant comes from the U.S Department of Labor. The USDOL often awards funds for workforce development to states or nonprofit organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workforce Development Training For Frontline Workers <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s how things will work under this program: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible employers who offer training in current &amp; emerging occupations will be reimbursed for up to 50% through this grant award. These programs allow for workers to increase their earning potential and move into high-paying jobs that require middle-high skill talent. Programs like this are crucial in our changing economy because, all over the country, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njspotlight.com\/2020\/09\/skilled-workers-more-important-than-ever-for-economic-recovery\/\">there is a shortage of skilled workers<\/a>. In New Jersey, this was also true even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Ensuring that New Jersey has a skilled workforce benefits both employers and workers. It also increases social mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><\/strong><strong>What Gov. Phil Murphy had to say about this grant award:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;During this unprecedented time, our top priority is to continue investing in our workforce,\u201d said Gov&nbsp;Murphy. \u201cThis critical funding will lay the foundation \u2013 through intensive training and support for employers \u2013 to ensure New Jersey workers have the skills needed to meet the demands of 21st-century jobs and for employers to fill their talent needs.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Grants like this are critical because of the widespread loss of jobs due to the COVID-10 pandemic.&nbsp; Workforce development grants can help to train workers to fit the market demands. These training programs can be for careers in technology, manufacturing jobs, health care, and many others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Here are some workforce development grants that nonprofits and businesses, or individuals can apply for: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/192502\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-for-professional-training-and-education-projects-for-those-working-with-older-adults.html\"><\/a>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/192502\/grants-to-usa-nonprofits-for-professional-training-and-education-projects-for-those-working-with-older-adults.html\">grant program for training and education for professionals who work with older adults:<\/a> Nonprofits all over the United States who meet these criteria are eligible to apply.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/184749\/grants-to-usa-nursing-and-medical-educators-for-career-development.html\"><\/a>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/184749\/grants-to-usa-nursing-and-medical-educators-for-career-development.html\">grant for professional education and training for medical and nursing educators for career development<\/a>: Nonprofits all over the United States are eligible to apply for this one as well.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/184749\/grants-to-usa-nursing-and-medical-educators-for-career-development.html\"><\/a>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/184749\/grants-to-usa-nursing-and-medical-educators-for-career-development.html\">grant program for Idaho artists looking for additional training<\/a>: Idaho artists who are looking to train in traditional art forms are eligible for this grant.<br \/><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>These grants and others for development and training are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/cat\/40\/workforce-grants.html\">GrantWatch<\/a>.
