We do that because we know that it is essential to ensure that future careers have skilled workers. This also ensures that more Americans will have access to more high-paying jobs, even as the market begins to shift. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retraining and workforce development programs offer training to those who have lost their jobs for a range of reasons. Beyond those programs, there are also apprenticeship programs that allow for students to be paid while they learn an important skill-based career. In Florida, a grant program exists to help fund these programs at specific institutions. This grant program is called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2021\/02\/16\/governor-ron-desantis-and-education-commissioner-richard-corcoran-announce-florida-pathways-to-career-opportunities-grant-awardees-2\/\">Career Opportunities Grant Awardees<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, along with Florida&#8217;s Education Commissioner, Richard Corcoran, announced the recipients of this grant program that will receive the funding. Awards totaling $10 million will be awarded to various school districts, colleges, state universities, and private training entities to expand existing apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Here&#8217;s what Governor Ron DeSantis had to say about the award of these grants : &#8220;The Pathways to Career Opportunities Grant Program has been a priority of this administration since day one. Expanding registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs not only is a strategic investment in our state\u2019s workforce, but it addresses the state\u2019s skills gap, provides support for employers and residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career Opportunities Are Important for Workers of All Ages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These Pathways to Career Opportunities Grants will help retrain workforce in a changing world of employment. While many skilled and unskilled jobs are lost to automation, new jobs and fields are opening at the same time that need a workforce with new skills. The programs funded by these grants will help Florida businesses and industry while helping displaced workers find new and rewarding career opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GrantWatch Has More Grants for Florida Organizations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are over 175 grants currently listed on<a href=\"https:\/\/florida.grantwatch.com\/\"> GrantWatch.com<\/a> intended for Florida organizations in the areas of education, recreation, arts, infrastructure and so much more. Here is just a sample:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/181490\/grants-to-florida-nonprofits-in-eligible-counties-for-arts-programming-in-public-schools.html\">Grants to Florida Nonprofits in Eligible Counties for Arts Programming in Public Schools. <\/a>Funding is intended to integrate in-school art programming and field trips with regular class curricula for students in Lake, Orange, Osceola, or Seminole Counties.<\/li><li>For cultural programming to bring more tourists to the region, up to $96,000 is available, depending on the size of your organization, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/167464\/grants-to-florida-arts-nonprofits-for-events-and-performances-that-attract-tourists.html\">Grants to Florida Arts Nonprofits for Events and Performances that Attract Tourists.<\/a><\/li><li>For the creation and maintenance of recreational trails, the purchase of equipment, and educational projects, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/171752\/grants-to-florida-agencies-tribal-governments-and-nonprofits-for-recreational-infrastructure.html\">Grants to Florida Agencies, Tribal Governments, and Nonprofits for Recreational Infrastructure<\/a>. This is a matching grant (50-50, 60-40 or 80-20) of up to $400,000 for nonmotorized single-use or diverse-use projects is $400,000, and $1 million for motorized single-use projects.<\/li><li>And, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grantwatch.com\/grant\/153350\/grants-to-florida-nonprofits-agencies-and-ihes-for-volunteer-services-to-benefit-communities.html\">Grants to Florida Nonprofits, Agencies, and IHEs for Volunteer Services to Benefit Communities<\/a> offers up to $18,000 over 12 months to support volunteer services in the areas of social justice, education, COVID-19 community recovery, economic development, and more.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions on these or any other grants, please call our customer service department at (561) 249-4129.
