One thing I’ve made it a priority to talk about here at GrantNews is workforce development<\/a>. As I’ve said before, the reason for this is that today’s workers need training for the future. That is why I love apprenticeships. Apprenticeships train workers for careers, and workers can earn on the job. This is a unique experience that allows for true hands-on learning in the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hybrid model of apprenticeships <\/a>combines classroom instruction and on-the-job training. These kinds of programs can boost workers’ overall earnings and improve productivity for the companies sponsoring apprentices. Increasing the number of apprenticeships can open up more highly skilled and well-paid jobs to more people. And these programs are often especially for the working-class. Luckily, this model of learning can be used for multiple fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, that’s where funding comes in. Some companies can financially sponsor apprentice programs. However, there may be additional funding available. And, some grants may help a potential employer, nonprofit, or state agency to offer similar programs. This is because these kinds of grants help companies to offset the costs of in-house apprenticeships. And companies benefit, too, by being able to train more skilled workers<\/a> for its workforce. This is especially important in today’s market as it continues to change and expand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apprenticeships Help Prepare Workers for the Economy of Today and Tomorrow <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since at GrantWatch we understand the importance of workforce development, we also understand how important apprenticeship programs are. That’s why we are proud to list several grants for these programs. And, since we are currently in a pandemic and have seen unemployment rise around the country, it’s an important topic. Therefore, we have an entire grant category listed on our site for workforce development<\/a>. Now I’m going to share some of these grants here for our subscribers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GrantWatch Understands the Importance of Training Workers <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One grant we list is a Grant for Employers for apprenticeships in New York in high-demand occupations<\/a>. These funds will go towards New York employers to increase the number of apprenticeships. This grant will focus on hiring people from marginalized groups for these programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another grant we list on our website is this Grant to North Dakota Businesses for student apprenticeships and internships in targeted industries<\/a>. This $40,000 grant will go to North Dakota businesses to improve occupational opportunities for North Dakota residents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And there’s a Grant for Ohio Master Artists to teach folk and traditional art to apprentices<\/a>. These $4,000 grants are eligible for for a year-long apprenticeship programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
