Under Sarah and her fellow board members&#8217; dedicated leadership, the organization extends its reach into the community and supports other organizations with the same cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>A Legacy of Impact and Growth<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rwjbh.org\/trinitas-regional-medical-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trinitas Regional Medical Center<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its inception about 20 years ago, the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Center has made significant strides in the fight against breast cancer. Initially focused on helping other groups with capital costs, the center has expanded its reach and impact in numerous ways. Over the years, they have opened two major centers: one at <a href=\"https:\/\/smmcnj.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>St. Michael\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> and another at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rwjbh.org\/trinitas-regional-medical-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trinitas Regional Medical Center<\/a>.<\/strong> Additionally, their collaboration with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhnj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University Hospital in Newark<\/a><\/strong> led to the creation of a Mobile Mammography Unit. This unit allows them to extend their services to even more women in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Expanding Support Through Grants<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, the center introduced a grants program to help other like-minded nonprofits ensure women receive breast cancer treatment. These grants (some of which are listed on <strong>GrantWatch<\/strong>) provide crucial funding to various organizations, empowering them to continue their vital work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The center\u2019s grants program is primarily funded through small grants from family foundations and individual donors. Despite the relatively small size of these individual contributions, they collectively make a significant impact. They launched a Mobile Mammography Unit with a grant of $500,000 and contributed $1 million towards the hospital\u2019s MRI suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Building Strong Relationships with Awardees<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the hallmarks of the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Center is its commitment to building solid relationships with its awardees.
