THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY LIBRARY BY GENERATING PRIVATE RESOURCES AND PROMOTING READING AND LITERACY. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH PROGRAMS WHICH GIVE FREE BOOKS TO PRESCHOOL-AGED AND DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN, THROUGH THE READ ST. LOUIS PROGRAM, WHICH IS A CITY-COUNTY WIDE READING INITIATIVE, AND BY BRINGING IN MAJOR AUTHORS TO SPEAK ABOUT THEIR WORKS.
