Jamkhed USA is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including: To provide technical consulting services in support of the Comprehensive Rural Health Project (Jamkhed), which was established in 1970 to improve comprehensive health care access in rural and poor communities in India, through grassroots and community based health and development programs, educational training and research; To assist Jamkhed in the promotion of health and development programs and the by organizing students and professionals as volunteers and advisors in the United States who can provide advice and support to the CRHP in order to facilitate implementation and ensure sustainability; and To raise awareness and distribute information about the health and other needs of rural, impoverished, and marginalized peoples of India
