The organizations mission is to save American independent films from the risk of extinction, whether through neglect or through faulty preservation strategies. Independent films are the lifeblood of an open society. They represent alternative voices, innovative storytelling techniques, and the geographical, cultural and demographic diversity that characterizes the United States. IndieCollect documents, preserves and restores these works whether fiction, non-fiction, or experimental, and whether they originated on film, tape or in a digital format so they can remain accessible in a digital age.
