POWERPLAY NYC ADVANCES THE LIVES OF GIRLS (AGES 8-18) THROUGH SPORTS, HELPING THEM GROW PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND ACADEMICALLY STRONGER. THE STARS SERIES AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM EMPOWERS ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS BY ENGAGING THEM IN A VARIETY OF SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES TO DEVELOP THEIR SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL AND LEARNING (SEL), CONFIDENCE AND SOCIAL SKILLS. POWERPLAY NYC ACCOMPLISHES THIS BY PARTNERING WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGAINZATIONS. OUR SUPERSTARS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (SSLA) PROGRAM IS A HIGH-IMPACT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS THAT FOCUSES ON SPORTS, HEALTH and WELLNESS; COLLEGE ACCESS and CAREER READINESS; AND LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT. SSLA KICKS OFF WITH A SIX-WEEK SUMMER INTENSIVE, AND CONTINUES INTO THE SCHOOL YEAR WITH LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS, A MENTORING PROGRAM, A PEER COACHING PROGRAM, AND COLLEGE and CAREER EXPLORATION (WHICH INCLUDES A COLLEGE TOUR).
