The Summit Foundation


Grants of up to $7,500 or more to Colorado nonprofit organizations and government agencies to benefit communities in Summit County and the surrounding Counties of Lake, Grand, and Park. Eligible requests may enhance the quality of life for Summit County area residents, protect the environment, and promote healthy and safe communities.

The maximum request for neighboring counties (outside of Summit County) is $7,500.

Applicants must be a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization as defined by the IRS or qualified government entity.

Organizations in, or serving the population of Summit County, Colorado as well as the neighboring Counties of Lake, Grand, and Park are eligible to apply for a grant from The Summit Foundation.

The following types of requests are ineligible:

-Organizations serving a population outside of the Foundation’s funding area: Lake, Grand, Park, and Summit Counties in Colorado.

-Political campaigns on behalf of any issues or candidate.

-Religious programs that require membership in a certain religion or advance a particular religious faith. Faith-based organizations may be eligible if they welcome and serve all members of the community regardless of religious faith, and do not require participation in activities that are specifically religious.

-Programs or projects that are already completed.

The Summit Foundation accepts grant applications twice per year, spring and fall. Nonprofit organizations may apply only once per calendar year.

The Fall 2016 grant cycle will open September 7, 2016. Grant applications are due Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

Final grant decisions are made by The Summit Foundation Board of Trustees and applicants should expect to be notified within 60 days of the application deadline.
