4. Shelter Funding to Accommodate Pets of Victims of Domestic Abuse
Grants to nonprofit shelters to provide housing for victims of domestic violence and their pets. The funding will be for operational support or capital improvements specifically for the maintenance and housing of pets. Grants will also be to nonprofit animal shelters working with domestic violence shelters to provide housing for pets of victims of domestic abuse.
5. Grants for the Care of Small Companion Animals
Up to $10,000 to nonprofit organizations for the care of small companion animals. For the purposes of this grant, small animals include dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, and other animals that are generally kept as household pets. Preference may be given to dog pounds and animal shelters.
6. Shelter Grants to Cover Canine Medical Procedures
Grants up to $1,000 to individuals, families, and nonprofits to help cover costs for canine medical procedures. Funding is for medical treatments and/or emergency services. The goal is to provide medial care funding to families and shelters.
7. Pet Care Aid While Owners Are in Domestic Violence Shelters
Financial assistance to individuals for pet housing and vet care while owner is housed in a domestic violence shelter. Boarding and vaccinations costs are covered. The purpose is to enable victims of domestic violence to escape abuse without leaving their pets behind.
8. Funding to Improve Conditions for Dogs Awaiting Adoption
Up to $1,000 to animal rescues and shelters to improve living conditions for dogs in shelters. Funding covers a variety of purchases and activities to enhance the quality of life for dogs and other pets waiting to be adopted. This includes toys and stress reducing agtivities.
9. Grants to Animal Shelters for Adoption Program Expenses
Up to $1,000 to animal rescues and shelters for short-term animal adoption program expenses. Funding covers costs for short-term dog field trips or foster programs. Eligible costs include leashes, collars, water and food bowls, harnesses, “Adopt Me” vests, and bags for proper waste disposal.
10. Medical Treatment Funds for Pets Awaiting Adoption
Up to $1,000 to animal rescues and shelters to cover medical treatments for pets awaiting adoption. Funding covers a variety of emergency medical costs to make it easier for pets to be adopted. Eligible costs include injuries, surgeries, and serious medical conditions.
11. Grants to Animal Rescue Shelters to Subsidize Pet Adoptions
Grants to animal rescues and shelters to subsidize pet adoption costs. Funds support reduced-fee costs and/or free adoptions for cats and dogs. Grantees will report the number of pets adopted thanks to this grant and provide a story or photograph of at least one of the adopted pets.
12. Fund Animal Shelters for Financial Aid to Adopt Older Pets
Up to $1,000 to rescues and shelters for funding to help individuals adopt older pets. Grant provides incentives to folks interested in adopting senior pets. Eligible expenses include food, supplies, enrichment, medications, training, supplements, and veterinary visits.
