These grants go far beyond the simplicities, they open doors to enriching experiences that build social skills and enhance personal development. School Travel Grants and Awards
1. Grants for Projects in Orchestra Programs!
Up to $900 to nonprofits for projects benefiting students in school orchestra programs. Priority consideration is for grant proposals that include travel scholarships to enable students in orchestra classes to experience performances from professional-level musicians.
2. Funding to Support Research Projects!
Grants up to $2,000 to faculty and research staff for domestic travel to improve access to research resources and more easily facilitate conference presentations. The funding is for trips to NASA facilities and centers to support collaboration with engineers and scientists, conference attendance, the use of specialized research equipment, and access to additional NASA research.
3. Grants for Career Development!
Up to $5,000 to faculty, instructional support staff, and other school personnel, and group educator collaboration for professional growth and career development. Individual grants are for participation in high-quality professional development, including travel abroad programs, summer institutes, conferences, seminars, and action research.
4. Funding to Hire Touring Artists!
Grants up to $8,000 to eligible schools, IHEs, nonprofits, and agencies to hire approved artists for performances. The funding defrays artist fees. The funding will also be for hotel, travel, and per diem costs.
5. Grants for Arts Residencies and Performances!
Grants to nonprofits, schools, and libraries, to enrich education through artist programs. The funding is for activities that include music, dance, performance, and literary programming. Funding reduces the cost of guest performer programs, including travel.
6. Funding Host Artists for Interactive Arts Projects!
Grants up to $15,000 to eligible K-12 schools and school districts to enhance education with interactive arts projects. Artist fees include travel, accommodation, meal expenses, and non-reusable materials required for the proposed activity.
7. Grants to Conduct Short-Term Scientific Research Abroad!
Grants of $6,000 to Ph.D. candidates to offset travel expenses to conduct short-term scientific research abroad. The funding supports supervised research at an accredited IHE or nonprofit research institution that requires expertise or facilities unavailable within close proximity of a student’s home.
8. Funding for Art Students Career Development and Training!
Grants for art students and emerging artists to pursue career development and training opportunities. The funding is for individuals specializing in the areas of printmaking, sculpture, drawing, and painting. Eligible uses of funds include travel, living expenses, tuition, and art supplies.
9. Grants for Musical Performances and Projects!
Grants to IHEs and other educational organizations, nonprofits, theater companies, and individuals for musical performances and projects. The funding is for expenses for performances, research, and publications for eligible artists. The funding supports research and travel expenses.
10. Funding for Public Humanities Programming!
Grants to IHEs, nonprofits, and tribal entities to develop humanities programs for the benefit of the general public. The funding supports projects for diverse public audiences in non-classroom settings. The awards are for research costs that include travel to archives, collections, and sites.
11. Grants for Research on the Effects of Technology on Society!
Grants to IHEs, nonprofits, and Native American tribes for research addressing the effects of technology on society. The funding is for humanistic research examining the relationship between technology and society. The funding for activities and final products includes research travel costs.
12. Funding to Engage Students in Science and Engineering Research!
Grants to IHEs and nonprofits for collaborative science and engineering research activities. The funding is to engage undergraduate and graduate students in high-level, collaborative, multidisciplinary research. The goal is to train the next generation of research leaders. Funding to travel.
