Grants to Texas nonprofit organizations in Bexar, Hays, Comal, Travis, Guadalupe, and Kendall counties for parent-child programming that strengthens local families. Applicants must submit a letter of inquiry prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended to strengthen the family unit, based on the "Dual Gen" (Two Generation) philosophy.
Dual Gen approaches help develop an infrastructure to address parent and child needs together. Specifically, we will be looking for programs that are comprised of all of the following three components:
While many programs tend to arrange parent-oriented and child-oriented programs into separate silos, Dual Gen programs and policies seek to engage families in ways that knit together these services and address both groups simultaneously. Programs must have been in operation for at least one year and serve families with children aged 0-8. The Foundation has chosen this focus, "Strengthening the Family Unit," because it will allow them to support lifelong learning, self-reliance and healthy lifestyles aligning with the Foundation's longtime mission.
Preference will be given to requests that have funding from other sources.
