Grants ranging between $500 and $3,000 are available to Illinois non-profits and governmental units for projects that benefit the specified community. Areas of programming may include education, parks and recreation, library services, fine arts, and community services. The Foundation will choose applicants proposing to advance ONE OR MORE of the following objectives:
-Address and help resolve important existing or emerging community issues.
-Support new and creative projects and organizations offering the greatest opportunity for positive and significant change.
-Promote cooperation and collaboration among organizations.
-Identify, enhance, and develop leadership in the community through creative and innovative activities that empower individuals.
-Improve the quality or scope of charitable work in the community.
Priority will be given to grants for “tangible items” to which a plaque or identifying stickers can be applied.
