Award to North Carolina local philanthropists who have made a significant difference in the community. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities through their personal philanthropic efforts. Eligible recipients are those individuals who have made a valuable contribution toward charitable projects, providing leadership to solve community problems, and/or to meet community needs. Nominees must be living resident(s) of Henderson County.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nominees must be living resident(s) of Henderson County. The primary focus will be on personally engaged philanthropy.

Committees, corporations, and organizations are not eligible for the Sauer Award.
