Grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 to Massachusetts non-profit organizations working to carry out short-term civic engagement projects and activities that aim to increase voter participation in the 2013 special and municipal elections. These grants are intended to help recipient organizations build power in their communities by organizing their memberships to participate in the democratic process through their issue advocacy and civic engagement campaigns.

The mini-grants are intended to help organizations conduct door-to-door voter education, hold non-partisan meet-the-candidates forums, create and distribute candidate guides, etc. - and to combine these electoral efforts with grassroots issue advocacy campaigns.
