Grants of up to $25,000 to California nonprofit organizations, community groups, and schools for activities that benefit the public in eligible regions. Funding is intended to support innovative, impactful projects and services that demonstrate feasibility and measurability. Funded projects must benefit communities in Calaveras County.

Funding Priorities - A project that:

  • Is innovative
  • Provides a unique and positive impact within Calaveras County
  • Demonstrates excellent planning and clear feasibility, with reasonable work plans, including benchmarks of performance and means of measuring success
  • May include collaboration with other Calaveras County agencies or organizations
  • Does not duplicate existing services or projects

Estimated Size of Grant:

The Foundation will support projects that can be funded, or partially funded, for up to $25,000.

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed within 12 months from notification of award.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be a not for profit organization.

Funding will only be given for a specific project that meets the following criteria:
-Is for the public benefit and serves Calaveras County residents only
-Shows evidence of non-discriminatory policies in hiring staff and providing services
-Is not for an endowment fund or an annual campaign, to retire long-term indebtedness or to a private foundation or other grant-making organizations
-Does not support or influence a political purpose (legislation or elections) or promote a specific religion
-Is not for personnel expenses or overhead expenses of any type

No more than one application may be submitted by schools and organizations. The application from community groups must include the signatures of the Executive Director or CEO and the Board Chairperson or President. For schools, the application must be signed by the teacher and principal.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications will begin to be accepted on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 and must be submitted to CCF via email by Friday, January 31, 2020. No mailed applications will be accepted.

Grant winners will be notified by the end of March.
