Grants and volunteer support to Springfield, Missouri nonprofit organizations for projects that address child neglect and abuse in the community. Funding is for one-day projects that utilize the organizational expertise and trained volunteers of the funding source.

Volunteers are typically utilized for a 3 to 4-hour shift, but multiple shifts can be considered if the project will take longer than that. Generally, one or two project sessions are scheduled a year, but if more are needed, the League can take that into consideration.

Mission:

The Junior League of Springfield, Inc is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Junior League of Springfield values:

  • Training and education that advance personal and professional leadership skills.
  • Advocacy for issues impacting women and children.
  • An environment that encourages diversity of opinions and supports multi-generational engagement.
  • Each member’s unique needs for engagement in the League.

All projects shall support the mission and vision of JLS and no projects shall conflict with the JLS values.

Term of Contract:

Projects must commence between June 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The organization requesting funding must have exemption from Federal Income Tax under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and not be a private foundation.

2018-2019 Grant Cycle Timeline:

- Step 1: Community Open House at Junior League Headquarters - Friday, September 13th at 3:30pm
- Step 2: Submit A Request For Proposal - Friday, October 4th at 5:00pm —Deadline
- Step 3: RFPs Reviewed - Junior League will review all of the RFP submissions and, if needed, will reach back out with any additional questions regarding the project submitted.
- Step 4: Projects Selected and Community Partners Notified - The Junior League will select and approve projects by May 2019, and community partners will be notified at this time.

If you are coordinating with or serving another agency (i.e., public schools, church, etc.), their approval and commitment to this project must accompany your proposal in writing as an attachment to your proposal.
