Grants to Colorado schools to develop in-school sports programs. Applicants must complete required certifications and obtain administration approvals prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended to support archery programs in K-12 schools. Grant funds may be used to support a new program or to purchase replacement or additional archery equipment for an existing program.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife, in partnership with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP®), provides funding for in-school archery programs.
There are two types of grants available for schools:
New Program Equipment Grants offer funding for K-12 schools to purchase their first set of archery equipment to start a NASP® certified in-school program.
Equipment Maintenance Grants offer funding for K-12 schools that have an existing NASP® certified in-school program to purchase replacement or additional archery equipment.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife, in partnership with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP®), provides funding to K-12 schools in Colorado.
In order to participate in CASP, schools must have at least one Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) certified coach. Public schools and charter schools, as defined by § 22-1-101, CRS, are eligible to participate in CASP. Private schools, as defined by § 22-30.5-103, CRS, and nonpublic home-based educational programs, as defined by § 22-33-104.5, CRS, are also eligible to participate in CASP, provided such schools and programs are organizations that have received tax exempt status from the IRS pursuant to § 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Ineligible
Instructors with suspended or terminated BAI certifications are not eligible for grant funding.
Schools only interested in implementing after school programs are not eligible for grant funding.
Pre-Application Information
Applications must be submitted by 5:00pm on November 30, 2023.
School selection for the grant will be announced by December 15, 2023.
New Program Grant Applications:
- Step 1: Complete Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) certification training. Visit the NASP_BAI website at https://naspbai.org/default.aspx to find your BAI status or a training near you to register. Schools MUST have a certified BAI instructor before submitting an application.
- Step 2: Schools are encouraged to have matching funds for the equipment. NOTE: Schools are required to purchase their own arrows directly from NASP ($198/box of 5 dozen).
- Step 3: Determine which equipment package best meets the needs of your school.
- Step 4: Complete the grant application.
Equipment Maintenance Grant Applications
- Step 1: Ensure lead instructor for the in-class program has an active BAI certification. Visit the NASP_BAI website at https://naspbai.org/default.aspx to find your BAI certification status.
- Step 2: Determine specific equipment needs and cost by visiting the NASP_Ordering page.
- Step 3: Determine the grant request amount, and secure at least 50% as matching funds.
- Step 4: Complete the grant application.
