Grants of up to $35,000 to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations in eligible regions for programs that address the needs of local communities and residents. First-time applicants and those that scored low on previous applications must attend two grant workshops prior to applying. Funding is intended for activities that have a positive impact in the focus areas of economic stability and workforce readiness, emergency needs, education, and health in Blair County. Grant applicants are asked to respond to issues identified within the Community Plan document.

Focus areas:

  • Economic Mobility: Individuals and families have access to lasting solutions that allow them to achieve financial stability and improve their socio-economic status.
  • Meeting Emergency Needs: A safety net for those experiencing emergencies.
  • Education: Community members of all ages will have access to educational opportunities and experiences.
  • Access to Health: Community members of all ages have access to lasting solutions that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

United Way of Blair County funds only 501(c)(3) organizations.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Any organization that has never applied for or received United Way of Blair County Impact Grant funding or any organization that has not applied for or received funding in the last two years are are required to attend both the Overview of RFP/Question & Answer and General Outcome Measurement training sessions. Each new applicant organization applying for funding must send a minimum of one representative to each of these trainings. New applicant organizations that do not send a representative to both training sessions will not be eligible to apply for funding.

Previous applicants/current grant recipients receiving a score of 85 or below on last year’s application will be required to attend both training sessions. A minimum of one representative from each organization is required to attend each of these trainings. Any applicant organization that does not send a representative to both training sessions will not be eligible to apply for funding.

Application must be submitted online by 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2020.

Applications submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 will be reviewed for completeness (quality will not be reviewed at this time), and you will be notified of any missing documents. Any missing documents must be received by the final deadline of 4:00 p.m. on March 20, 2020. Applications received after the early submission deadline will not receive the completeness review and will be submitted to the review committee as submitted.

Grants will be announced in June 2020.
