Grant Description
Grants of up to $20,000 to Ontario nonprofit charitable organizations in eligible regions for capital projects and programs that enhance the quality of life for local communities. Funding is intended to support activities that benefit youth and seniors within the focus areas of health, education, and spiritual care. However, other programs/projects may be considered on an individual basis. Eligible applicants serve the London area. Proposals must demonstrate the creative development of new programs that will make a difference to local residents.

All applications must provide clear and concrete objectives for the program/project for which they are requesting funding. Programs/projects should have a definite purpose, cover a specific period of time, and ideally will continue to have an impact after the grant is expended.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Westminster College Foundation provides grants to registered charitable organizations in London, Ontario and the surrounding area.

Only non-profit charitable organizations with a charitable registration number in good standing are eligible to apply for a WCF grant. Organizations requesting funding must demonstrate that they have a strong committed Board, fiscal responsibility and management qualifications.

Ineligible
Grants are not made to support base operating expenses (including administrative salaries) of applicant organizations. However, salaries and expenses directly related to the program/project will be considered.

Any type of administration fee tied to a request will not be funded through the grant.

Grants are not made to establish or add to endowment funds.

Pre-Application Information
Open to Fall Grant application submissions: September 1, 2023.
Closed to submissions: Prior to midnight, October 1, 2023.

Applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation by email to discuss their proposal or if they have any questions.

The approximate turnaround time to receive notification if an application has been successful is generally three months.

Preference will be given to programs/projects that have at least 50% of the program/project funding from other sources.

Estimated Size of Grant
The maximum amount of funding available is $20,000 for program/projects.

Capital project initiatives will be considered if there is a demonstrated need and request falls within a maximum of $20,000 of available funding.

Term of Contract
Fall Grant Applications are for programs/projects/initiatives that are expected to commence not earlier than the following January. Please ensure your application reflects the funding timeline.
