Grants to Illinois elementary schools to increase students' fresh fruit and fresh vegetable consumption. Priority is given to elementary schools based on free and reduced eligibility. This program is to be used for fresh fruits and vegetables provided to children at no cost, outside of the reimbursable meal(s).
The USDA requires that the allocation for each selected school range from $50 - $75 per student per year.
