In-kind grants valued at $350 to Illinois organizations for community gardening projects in eligible locations. The grants are awarded in the form of vouchers, which may be used for seeds, plants, and materials. Funding is intended to support urban community gardens in Cook County.

Goal: To develop urban community awareness of agriculture through gardening, provide additional funding to meet garden goals and connect gardens with area farmers/businesses for potential plant and garden material sales.

Grants are $350 each, awarded in the form of vouchers to be redeemed at Cook County Farm Bureau member greenhouses, farm stands, and businesses for plantings and materials identified in the grant application.

Term of Contract:

Funds made available in late March and expire November 1st during the grant year.

Organizations may apply.

Grant application date deadline is February 28, 2021, 11:59 pm. Grant application date must be verified by postmark date, fax transmittal, or email delivery time for consideration.

All garden applicants will be notified of awards by March 16, 2021.
