Grants of up to $1,000 to Bennington, Vermont public school teachers and staff to support innovative ideas and projects at the classroom level. Grants support classroom activities, beyond those provided by the district. The program’s focus is to enhance student learning by providing new and exciting educational experiences for children at both the elementary and high school level.

Classroom Grants have enabled teachers to use equipment to hatch chicken eggs while exploring life cycles, purchase literacy backpacks for kindergarteners, and take educational field trips to Arbor Day Farms, the Rose Theatre and the Mallory Kountze Planetarium.

Estimated Size of Grant:

One classroom - Up to $500. Multiple classrooms or grades - Up to $1,000.

Term of Contract:

All funds must be expended exclusively for the appropriate grant by April 1 of the school year for which the funds are received.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Bennington Public School District administrators and staff who work directly with students (teacher, principal, counselor, coach, librarian, etc.) may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

Completed applications must be received by the Foundation on or before February 15 of each year. All applicants will be notified of funding decisions no later than April 15 of each year.

Recipients of funds are requested to attend and will be recognized at the Annual Awards Banquet in April.
