Grants of up to $600 to Minnesota students in grades 8-12 in Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen Counties to work with an artist instructor or mentor or to subsidize the attendance of an arts camp, class, or workshop. Funding is intended to give youth the experience of working with a practicing professional artist.
Eligible applicants may attend either a public, charter, private school, or be enrolled in a PSEO program or home-schooled. Applicants must have a strong interest and a history of engagement in the arts, and be either self-trained or formally trained in their chosen arts discipline.
As part of the maximum $600 grant award, grantees may also ask for reimbursement up to $100 for travel expenses, lodging, and/or meals, and up to $50 for arts materials.
