Grants of up to $9,000 per year to Vermont nonprofit arts organizations for operating support. Funding is intended to support organizations that display a strong and stable presence in their community as arts service providers. Eligible applicants offer high-quality programming, support Vermont artists, provide educational/learning opportunities for Vermonters of all ages and abilities, and work in partnership with civic, nonarts, and/or educational organizations to support the economic, social, and cultural well-being of their communities.

Operating grant ranging from $3,000 to $9,000 each year.

Term of Contract:

Arts Partnership Grants provide operating funds over a three-year period, beginning in FY2021 (September 2020).

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations are incorporated in the state of Vermont with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or municipal arts agencies with a primary stated mission to serve the arts which have:
- Operated continually for a minimum of five years
- Received or have applied for a D-U-N-S Number
- Retained at least one half-time (or half-time equivalent) paid staff member over the past fiscal year, and will retain at least one half-time (or half-time equivalent) paid staff member over the next three fiscal years
- Provided year-round programming/services for at least the past fiscal year, and will continue to provide year-round programming over the next three fiscal years
- Submitted all required reports on past Council grants
- Facilities and programs that are accessible and welcoming to people with disabilities.

Operating support provided through the Arts Partnership Program may not fund capital construction, the purchase of permanent equipment, the offset of previous operating deficits, fundraising events, food and beverages, lobbying expense, travel abroad, programs in which artists are not appropriately compensated, or activities that are primarily religious.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Designed for both new and experienced grant writers, free workshops focus on Council grant programs opening for application in February: Artist Development and Creation Grants for artists; Arts Impact and Arts Partnership Grants for organizations, municipalities, and schools. Participants will gain an understanding of program guidelines, learn how to construct a competitive application, and have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of Council staff.

All workshops are 1-3 p.m. Artists interested in Creation and Artist Development Grants should attend from 1-2 p.m.; administrators interested in Arts Partnership and Arts Impact Grants from 2-3 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend the entire two hours.
