Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $20,000 to Lethbridge County, Alberta schools and community organizations for capital improvement projects, including the purchase of equipment to support recreational, cultural, historical, or sporting projects, beautification projects, and facility upgrading and renovation projects. Priority is given to those applications that most benefit area residents and that encourage the improvement of facilities and participation in the local community.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Funding is limited to a maximum of $20,000 per application (limit of one application per organization/association).

Term of Contract:

Grant applications are now being accepted for 2019-2020 projects. Project must be completed within 2 years of application or funding will be withdrawn.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Community organizations and schools may apply.

Land Trust Grants are limited to municipally owned parks, recreation areas or school purposes.

Grants are restricted to capital improvements and cannot be applied towards the operating expenses of a school, park or recreation facility.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday May 31, 2019 at 4:30 pm.

If this project is for a school, please use School Board Application. Funding distribution will take place in June 2019.

If this project is not for a school, please use Community Grant Application. Funding distribution to take place in July 2019.

Note:
- Proposals should include details regarding the purpose and intent of the project and should clearly identify the amount of funding being applied for.
- Applications should include details regarding total project costs, donated or volunteer labor, work, or materials, and any other funds raised.
-Applicants are encouraged to contact the County office to clarify any questions.
