Grants to Texas nonprofit organizations to benefit communities in in eligible locations. Funding areas include education, arts and culture, literacy, health, and science. Emergency funding is available to organizations that have been impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19). The Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation makes grants to organizations serving 50 specific counties in south and central Texas.

The AKR Foundation awards grants for arts/culture, charitable, education, literacy, medical and scientific purposes. 

Due to the community impact of COVID-19, The Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation has opened the 2020 grant cycle early to allow for emergency funding of grants related to the pandemic. If your organization has been affected or is providing support for those impacted by COVID-19, please submit your application to be considered for early funding.

The Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation makes grants to qualified non-profit organizations serving 50 specific counties in south and central Texas.

Pre-Application Information:

If your organization has been affected or is providing support for those impacted by COVID-19, you may submit your application now to be considered for early funding.

COVID-19 grant applications may not follow the standard application timeline or status definitions. You may receive funds early and notice your application is still in the “Pending Decision” queue. The COVID-19 applications may be left open until the end of the standard grant cycle to allow Advisory Directors to grant additional funds to your organization at a later date.

The Alice Kleberg Reynolds Foundation 2020 grant cycle will be open from Wednesday, May 20, 2020 through Thursday, August 27, 2020 at noon (12pm) CST. If your application does not meet the early funding criteria above, the Foundation kindly asks that you wait to submit your application until May 20, 2020 when the regular grant cycle begins.

If this is your first time applying for a grant you will need to register your organization using your Tax Identification Number (TIN) and contact information. Returning applicants can log in using their TIN. You are responsible for keeping your profile up to date at all times – the Foundation will use the information on your profile for all correspondence and grant making.

Due to emergency funding needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic, some 2020 grant applications may be paid early at the discretion of the Advisory Directors. If your organization will be receiving funds early the Primary Contact on your organization’s profile will receive a notification. Be sure to keep your organization’s contact information up to date.
