The Genuardi Family Foundation
Grants of up to $10,000 to Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Bucks Counties, Pennsylvania non-profit organizations providing direct health, social, economic, emergency and other services that benefit the underserved and disadvantaged. Interested applicants must submit a Letter of Inquiry by June 30, 2014.
Grants are intended to support direct services that positively impact the lives of low-income families, at-risk children and youth, people with disabilities, uninsured children and adults, and individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Eligible programs will (a) promote the unity, health and well-being of families; (b) improve access to basic services for the most vulnerable community members; (c) prepare children, youth and adults for success in their schools, in the workplace and in their communities; and/or (d) invest in systems and sustainable change efforts to break the cycles of poverty and vulnerability, and build toward a better future for all people.
Examples of services provided by grantees in the past have included, (but are not limited to):
* Improved access to medical and dental care
* Maternal and child health services
* Services for individuals with disabilities
* Food distribution
* Housing and homelessness prevention
* Emergency services
* Behavioral health
* Vocational training and workforce preparation
* Youth development
* Service coordination and delivery
* Programs designed to build individual self-sufficiency
Preference will be given to those projects that receive broad-based community support, make use of volunteer labor and who incur reasonable costs to run their programs. Grant proposals may request funds for project funding, general operating funding, capacity building or a combination of these.
Generally, first-time applicants to the Core Grant Program are encouraged to apply for program support. If an organization has received Foundation funding in the past, general operating requests are welcomed.
