Kansas Office of Attorney General (OAG) Derek Schmidt - Victim Services Division

Grants to Kansas nonprofit organizations for operational assistance and programs that support child victims of neglect and abuse and that help to prevent child abuse. Funding is intended to provide temporary emergency shelter for victims; assistance and counseling; and educational services to reduce the incidence of child abuse and neglect and diminish its impact on the child victim. Costs associated with court-appointed special advocate programs will also be supported.
Grants made to programs will be based on the numbers of persons served by the program and will be made only to programs aimed at preventing child abuse and neglect or providing residential services or facilities to victims of child abuse or neglect.
Through the Grant Program, the Victims Services Division seeks to ensure that Kansas crime victims: 1) are aware of their rights, 2) have their rights protected, 3) are aware of the services available to them, and 4) have access to quality services.
