Grants of up to $10,000 to California nonprofit organizations in eligible counties that serve disadvantaged children from birth to 18 years of age. Interested applicants must first submit a letter of intent prior to submitting a full application. Eligible counties include Alameda and Contra Costa.
Grant decisions are guided by the Foundation's mission to improve the lives of children in their community. CSL’s goals are to keep children safe, support their families, enhance their intellectual, emotional and physical well-being, and enrich their lives.
The funding source is especially looking for ways in which an organization can use its flexible funds to make an important difference in their ability to fulfill their mission. CSL may fund programs or portions of programs not covered by other funders, or in some instances, specific administrative or one-time costs if the need is compelling.
