Grants to Cleveland County, North Carolina nonprofit organizations, congregations, and governmental and educational institutions for projects that will improve the lives of local residents. Previous investment areas include education, financial literacy, basic needs such as food and shelter, and youth mentoring.
The mission of the Cleveland County Community Foundation is to inspire philanthropy and strengthen the community by supporting initiatives that address local needs and providing quality services to donors and constituents.
The Foundation is an investor in the community and is interested in creating the highest possible levels of community gain, focused on improving the lives of Cleveland County citizens.

Grants are one year in duration.
Grants must be awarded to eligible organizations including 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, congregations, governmental and educational institutions for projects that will serve the residents of Cleveland County, North Carolina.
If the organization conducting the project does not meet these criteria, you can apply for a grant under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization.
Typical funding restrictions include:
- Capital campaign requests
- Debt retirement/deficit funding
- Direct support of individuals (e.g. scholarships, hardship)
- Duplication of existing programs or services by new organizations
- Endowment funds
- Travel and conferences
- Publication of books

The Cleveland County Community Foundation's grant cycle will open Monday, June 4, 2018. Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12:00 PM. The grant application system closes promptly at noon and will not accept any late submissions.
Award and decline notifications will be made via email in late August.
