Citadel - Chester County Intermediate Unit
Awards to Chester County, Pennsylvania teachers to recognize outstanding contributions to education both in and out of the classroom. Schools with the highest number of nominations will also be considered for an award. Nominations are invited on behalf of deserving teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty.
Schools of Heart:
After the nomination period ends, the Citadel Heart of Learning Award committee will tally the total number of nominations by school. The top three schools will earn cash for events or assemblies.

15 finalists will be selected: One teacher from each of the 13 area public school districts, one teacher from the Chester County Intermediate Unit, and one teacher from a non-public school in Chester County. From this group, three winners are selected: One high school teacher, one middle school teacher, and one elementary school teacher. The top three schools (based on number of nominations) will receive Schools of Heart awards.
Each of the 15 finalists receives $500 to use in his or her classroom.
Each winner receives the Citadel Heart of Learning Award along with an additional $1,500 for use in the classroom.
Schools of Heart:
-1st Place - $1,500
-2nd Place - $750
-3rd Place - $500
Nominations are accepted on behalf of Chester County teachers in public schools, non-public schools (including charter and home-schools), and the Chester County Intermediate Unit.
Chester County students, parents, and community members are encouraged to nominate a deserving teacher.
Nominations are due by December 31, 2017.
