Funding is also intended to improve access to mental health services, community organizing, and outreach around legal services or programs that help people on the pathway to citizenship.

Proposals must fit into at least one of the following priority funding areas:

- Create pathways to citizenship for the Latinx community, which may include, but are not limited to legal services, outreach, advocacy, and education responding to current immigration policies and ICE response.
- Civic engagement training and/or leadership strategies to encourage participation of Latinx in society.
- Increasing knowledge of and access to culturally sensitive mental health services and holistic wellbeing practices.
- Organizing outreach, awareness, and advocacy around the Latinx community’s participation in the 2020 census.

In addition to the funding priorities listed above, El Fondo will give priority to efforts that are led by the Latinx community, which includes staff, board, and advisory groups. Collaborative efforts and efforts focused on serving greater Minnesota are also encouraged.
