Grants of up to $2,000 to Ohio nonprofit organizations and government agencies in eligible areas for summer programming that benefits local youth. Funding is intended for unique and imaginative programs that serve the community and enrich the lives of youth. Programs must emphasize character building and education. Eligible programs are located within Stark County.

Preference will be given to programs that:

  • Address mental health needs of youth
  • Help make up for learning deficits due to COVID-19
  • Challenge youth to learn and grow through educational programs and activities, virtual as well as in-person
  • Engage youth in arts, culture, and outdoor exploration
  • Introduce youth to new experiences on area college campuses
  • Reading programs geared to improving literacy
  • Fill a need or gap in a low-income area such as providing healthy summer meals and snacks, or providing transportation to and from activities.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are made to 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing, tax-exempt private agencies, and government entities located within Stark County, Ohio only or directly benefiting Stark County.

The Foundation does not award grants to individuals except through scholarship funds.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to apply is March 11, 2022. Decisions will be made in April.

Proposals are due by 4:30 PM on the day of the deadline.

SummerTime Kids will accept multiple applications from the same organization only if the program is serving a different population of children.
